Gym Clothes 101: How to Pick the Right OutfitGym Clothes 101: How to Pick the Right Outfit

Despite the demanding schedules that people have, some can surprisingly squeeze in enough time for a workout session. Nowadays, there is not much of an excuse to skip even just a quick workout because of the accessibility of workout videos. Even without equipment, you can do exercises in the comfort of your home.

However, some still prefer to get a gym membership for several reasons and one of which is that they get motivated to wear and flaunt their favorite gym clothes. Being able to wear our favorite gym clothes is one of the little motivations we have to be able to continue our fitness journeys. With this being said, wearing the wrong type of clothes in the gym can create hindrances and limitations in our movements, thus not being able to maximize our time in the gym. To prevent this from happening, here are the few reminders in choosing the right workout clothes.

1. Pick the Right Fabric

Choose a breathable type of fabric. While it is true that cotton is a very comfortable choice of clothing, it can absorb every ounce of sweat from your body, leaving you drenched. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it’s also a possible source of infection if left for more extended periods of time.

2. Pick the Right Bra

Do not wear a regular bra even if you are wearing a shirt that completely covers it. Besides the fact that it’s not comfortable, it can strain your shoulder and back. And since some bras have wires underneath, it can damage your breast tissue when performing exercises. This can eventually lead to sagging of breasts.

3. Fit Your Clothes

It’s not enough that your gym clothes look amazing on you. Before purchasing new clothes, make sure you try it on and check if you can move freely despite being fit on you. Clothes that are too tight can restrict your blood circulation and can lead to certain injuries. On the other hand, do not choose oversized clothes as well as this may cause you to ignore the proper body form when performing exercises. Choose something that fits you perfectly and allow you to move, as well.

Here are three things you have to keep in mind in choosing your gym clothes. Aside from the right clothing, remember also to remove any pieces of jewelry you have as this may cause injuries while lifting weights or performing intense workouts. Being presentable in the gym is a must, but make sure your makeup is as light as it can be. Heavy make up can cause your pores to clog after sweating and can then lead to breakouts. Now that you’re all set for the gym, go get that fit and lean body you’ve always wanted.…
